I used this for the early part of my 100 mile ultramarathon. I spoke with Tobias at Maurten who said that Maurten 160 could be consumed with half an energy bar to give me my 300 calories per hour. Just leave a 5 minute gap between each. I topped this off with half a Maurten 100 gel to give me 350. It all worked a treat, no stomach issues at all, just lots of energy. Having used both Maurten 160 and 320 for the race I would say that you can taste the flavour of the product in the 320 much more obviously than the 160, although both are largely flavourless. Packets are small and easily opened.
After 5 hours I swapped for Maurten 320 exclusively for the rest of the race.
